iPhone vs. BlackBerry
I have a problem. I am typically pretty good with decision making, but I can't decide which phone to get next: the BlackBerry Curve 8310 (I had the 8820 last and absolutely loved it and this is a step up) or the next iPhone (if rumor proves true, it will be out within the next 60 days). You make think this is silly but it's a huge dilemma! I have a MacBook for work, which has been quite an adjustment but I have grown to love, and everyone has an iPhone as it synchs best with iCal (which blows btw) and Apple products in general, but I keep hearing that the iPhone's touch screen is terrible for typing, and the audio quality when speaking is sub-par; however, as an entertainment device, it kicks ass, and as we all know, it is way "cooler". Meanwhile, the BBerry Curve (note its NOT the Pearl) is a solid business device, and while BBerry has had its difficulties over the last couple years, it's overall the best phone I have ever had. So, I need a phone that's strong for business but also for fun. It's the classic battle: iPhone vs. BlackBerry:

I say "Go with the Blackberry." Everyone I know who has an iPhone has said that it's great for everything except being a phone.
Apparently, it runs out of "juice" quickly when you try to use it as a phone and as an iPod. Alo, the "camera" quality isn't as good.
So I would buy an iPod touch, and then get the Blackberry.
Infact, after being stuck over in London for the last week without a phone altogether (because my Sprint phone doesn't work here at all), I am thinking of getting a Blackberry myself.
And I adore that they make you use a Macbook for work, girl. I have to use a PC at work, and then a Macbook at home. The Macbook just does so many cool things.

Now that's a solid case of bigger is not always better. Love that you are always looking out for me Rob!

I know you are about both style and functionality. I would skip those and go with the DynaTAC 8000X.
Sssh, keep it on the downlow.

Thanks Megan - am swaying towards getting the BBerry again, but I know that I will have iPhone envy if I do :)

Hi Kate - The BlackBerry is a better business device. If you are going to be doing long business emails you can't beat the Push technology or the QWERTY keyboard.

Yeah I was hoping to avoid the whole 2 device thing though. I want a solid biz AND entertainment device... is that so hard? :)
Things are great, thanks for still reading and I hope you are well!

Kate
So I have a 16GB Touch and an 8820. Use both for very different purposes. Typing long messages on the Touch is painful, but browsing the web is soooo much better than the Blackberry. Carrying two devices is not a problem, and it means I can listen to music at my desk on the Touch while not impacting my ability to make and receive calls on the Blackberry.
P.S. Hope the new job is working out!
